Police find body of teen who fell into the Bronx River

Police have found the body of the 14-year-old boy who fell into the Bronx River Monday night.

According to police, Joseph Johnson fell into the water while on a makeshift raft with a group of his friends. The other teens were able to make it to shore after the raft capsized and immediately ran for help. Police, rescue divers and the Coast Guard began searching for Johnson, who did not know how to swim, around 10:30 p.m.

Police say the teens launched the raft from a pier behind ABC Home and Carpet on the east bank of the river.
