Trio of Bronx high school basketball stars make decisions about the future

A trio of Bronx high school basketball stars announced their decisions for the future Wednesday.

Michael Smith, a Bronx Regional High School senior guard, was the 12th highest scorer in the city. Smith announced in front of family and friends he plans to play basketball at the University of Nebraska in the fall. Smith?s coach says he knows he will excel academically and athletically.

Jason Walsh helped lead Mount St. Michael Academy to the CHSAA ?A? final. Walsh decided to take the full scholarship to Manhattanville College to continue his basketball career. Walsh?s coach says he is very proud of him.

Rice junior guard Edgar Sosa had a tough decision to make. He was accepted to NC State, the University of Louisville, UConn and Florida State. Sosa, who helped lead his team to the CHSAA ?AA? finals decided the University of Louisville will allow him to pursue his dream of playing basketball.
