Monroe High School students paint new set of murals in cafeteria

Some Monroe High School students painted an new set of murals in the cafeteria and re-dedicated the art on Wednesday.

The school whitewashed the full-wall murals last year. Students say they have been fighting to re-paint new murals since then. They say re-painting the murals was an opportunity for growth. Students add they are happy to give something back to the school.

Those who painted the art say the new murals represent the community Monroe students live in. Students plan on staying late after classes and into the summer to add the final touches.
