Bronx residents take a swing at development meeting

There are plans to build up the Bronx, but community members want to make sure there are also plans to include Bronx residents.

Community members and elected officials held a meeting Saturday to discuss residents? goals for upcoming development projects in the borough. From Yankee Stadium to the Bronx Waterfront, Bronx residents want to pitch in and ensure their inclusion.

Besides providing new jobs to old residents, community members also want more affordable housing as part of the new development package. The final goal neighbors want insurance on is improved parking and post-game cleanup at the stadium.

Bronx residents are not going to take council members for their word, they want promises to deliver these goals written out.

The borough?s development plans are set to begin in 2006.
