Bronx subways given red light for improvement funds

Bronx subways? doors are closed when it comes to funding for improving the rail systems conditions.

State legislators rerouted the MTA?s proposed five-year spending plan on Friday to the junk yard. Government officials rejected the construction and repair plan allotting $27 billion in spending from 2005 to 2009.

The MTA must try to get the project?s wheels turning again by resubmitting the plan, but there has been no word when that will happen.
