NYPD hopeful purportedly injures police officer from the Bronx

A police officer was injured Monday when he pulled a vehicle over and then the vehicle started to pull him.

Authorities say the officer pulled over Yesenia Rivera, an NYPD hopeful, for talking on her cell phone. Instead of cooperating with the injured officer, police say Rivera dragged him a few blocks starting at 145th Street and Willis Avenue.

Rivera is being charged with assault on a police officer.
