Bronx organization VIP unlocks doors to new housing project

The Bronx based community service organization, VIP, laid down the welcome mat at its newest location for former homeless families Tuesday.

The two-bedroom Albert Walsh Apartments provide small families with a place to call home. The 21-unit complex includes a community room, a computer room and a place for families to stretch their muscles in the form of a garden and a playground.

Families who now have a bed to sleep in say they are grateful for a second chance to get their lives back on track.

VIP plans to build two additional housing units in the Bronx.
