More than 100 rookie NYPD officers set to hit the streets of the Bronx

More than 100 rookie officers are ready to hit the streets of the Bronx after graduating Wednesday.

The new officers will be assigned to all different areas throughout the borough, possibly even sections deemed impact zones. Although crime is down in the Bronx, it lags in comparison to the city average. Crime citywide is down about 5 percent, but in the Bronx it's down just under 4.5 percent.

The hope is that the new officers will help make the borough safer.
