Three-alarm blaze destroys auto shop in Parkchester

A three-alarm blaze ripped through two stores on East Tremont Avenue Friday, destroying an auto shop.

Employees of Hot Wheelz Motor Sports, which has been in business for 14 years, are now out of a job. And residents who left their cars for repairs have nothing left. A computer store was also damaged in the blaze.

Fire officials say it may be impossible to salvage the building the Hot Wheelz store occupied. They say they may have to demolish what's left.

A few firefighters received minor injuries, but no one else was hurt.
