Bronx graduate tries to pitch it to the majors

Humberto Sanchez is trying to throw his way into the big leagues with the Erie Seawolves in the Double A eastern league.

The South Bronx graduate visited the New York metro area when his team took on the Trenton Thunder. The right-handed pitcher signed with the Detroit Tigers organization in 2002 and was promoted to the Double A in the summer of 2004.

Sanchez was forced to sit out the first two months of the year due to an injury and has been struggling ever since. Sanchez is 3-4 with a 5.60 ERA and 55 strikeouts.
