Bronx tenants say they are forced to climb stairs

Tenants at 1055 University Plaza are facing an issue they say has been escalating for almost a month.

The building?s elevators broke down and despite several complaints tenants say the management company will not do anything.

The Department of Buildings (DOB) says it has inspected the problem and issued the building a hazardous violation for the elevators. The DOB also says it is going to continue to monitor the building.

Highbridge Management Company, which is responsible for the building, declined to comment on the situation.
