The D Line 205th Street token booth closes in the Bronx

The MTA permanently closed its D Line token booth at the 205th Street station on Saturday.

Subway clerks will receive plenty of exercise by walking around the platform and ticket area wearing red vests. The clerks will assist passengers with directions and using MetroCard vending machines.

More than 160 of the 600 token booths throughout the boroughs will be replaced by information kiosks by May 2006.
