Fire destroys several businesses along Jerome Avenue in the Bronx

An early morning fire destroys several businesses on Jerome Avenue in the Bronx.

It took firefighters approximately two hours to put the blaze out. According to officials, the fire began at 4 a.m. in a beauty salon and quickly spread through a fabric store. The flames completely destroyed eight businesses.

Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire. One firefighter was treated for minor injuries. Authorities say this is the second fire on Jerome Avenue. The previous fire destroyed multiple businesses just blocks away last month.
