Three-alarm fire destroys at least three businesses in Mount Eden

A three-alarm fire destroyed at least three businesses in Mount Eden Thursday.

The fire broke out shortly before 4 a.m. on Elliott Place. Fire officials say the blaze appears to have started in a Spanish cuisine restaurant and spread to several others. Eight firefighters and one other person suffered minor injuries.

A fire around the corner on Jerome Avenue destroyed eight businesses earlier in the week.
