Residents attend the 17th annual Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade
The drums were banging and hundreds were cheering Sunday for the 17th annual Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade.
Residents as well as past and present politicians lined up along the Grand Concourse to watch the festivities that began with a ribbon cutting. Attendants waved their red, white and blue flags as dancers performed the salsa along the parade route.
Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion says outside of Puerto Rico, the Bronx has the largest community of Puerto Ricans in the world.
