Bronx Household of Faith battles to keep holding services at P.S. 15 in University Heights

The Bronx Household of Faith is battling the city?s Department of Education to keep holding its services at a local public school.

The city and the church were back in court Thursday, arguing the same case since the mid-1990s. In 2002, a judge ruled in favor of the church, allowing it to hold services at P.S. 15 in University Heights on the weekends.

Now, the Department of Education is appealing that decision and wants the church to stop holding services on school property altogether. The judge on the case only heard oral arguments from both sides Thursday. She expects it to be a long, complex case.
