Local Harding Park club helps open more Gloria Wise programs

Not all of the Gloria Wise Community Center?s programs will be closed forever. The Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club of Harding Park decided to bring back one of the center?s programs, Pathways for Youth, which serves more than 2,500 seniors and children.

The Gloria Wise Community Center had to cancel many of its programs back in May when the city shut down the Bronx Center. The shutdown came with no warning amid allegations the Gloria Wise Community Center had mismanaged its $20 million annual budget. Just last week, the center made news again when its former Executive Director Charles Rosen was accused of loaning a liberal radio station, Air America, more than $800,000.

The Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club is scheduled to open additional programs and plans on serving more than 12,000 children and seniors.Related Story
