Record gas prices are depleting Bronx wallets

Bronx residents say they are pinching pennies with gas prices hitting record highs.

According to NewYorkGasPrices.com the highest petroleum station in the five borough?s is in the Bronx. A Shell station on the corner of Bruckner Boulevard and Whiteplains Road is selling gas for $2.89 per gallon for regular unleaded.

It is said everything in New York is more expensive and gas is no exception. According to AAA, the average petroleum price for the Mid Atlantic region is $2.40 per gallon. AAA says currently the average cost of gas in New York and its boroughs is $2.59 per gallon, up 59 cents from a year ago.
