Bronx parents are given advice to prevent kidnappings

Although the FBI says the number of missing children has gone down since last year, Brooklyn parents are urged to take measures that will decrease these numbers even further.

The New York State Missing and Exploited Children Clearinghouse says children should know to run to a crowded area if someone is following them. Parents are asked to remind their children to never talk to strangers. Parents should also tell their children to avoid any situation that makes them uncomfortable.

Parents should also carry a recent picture of their child and make a mental note of what their child wear everyday.Related Links: NYC Child Advocacy Resource and Consultation Center NYC State Division of Criminal Justice Services
