Bronx seniors say Meals-on-Wheels program not very tasty

Bronx seniors say despite complaints 10 months ago, the city is still dishing up some below par food and service in its Meals-on-Wheels program.

Seniors say although the meals are not as late has they were previously, they are still receiving either frozen or melted frozen meals. Many seniors say their food is almost inedible due to seasoning or because it is served extremely cold. Seniors also say some of the portions are inadequate.

The Department for the Aging, who is responsible for the program, says it disagrees with recent complaints. The department says it is closely monitoring the program and seniors now have several menu options that were not available before.
