Community leaders, residents rally for involvement in Bronx development plans
Local community leaders and residents rallied on the steps of the Bronx Supreme Court Wednesday calling for more involvement in Bronx development projects. Residents discussed plans for the Bronx Terminal Market, the new Yankees Stadium and waterfront projects. One concern is the increase in traffic caused by the new projects. Local groups say more cars will worsen air quality and raise asthma rates. The groups say they're hoping to generate a community benefit agreement, which would be signed by developers to help ensure community needs are met.
