Ceiling collapse at East Tremont building forces residents to take action

The ceiling collapse that injured one Bronx woman on Wednesday has spurred residents of that building to take action. They're getting together to fix up the apartments themselves. Some residents of the East Tremont building have been forced to evacuate as city officials inspect the conditions. Tenants say there's a history of problems in the building and the landlord has done nothing to address them. One resident, Shivana Villaneuva, received minor injuries to her back and neck from the incident. She says the same ceiling collapsed in her bathroom last year and was repaired, but water continued to leak.
