Bronx residents say Selwyn Avenue Tunnel is a health risk

Residents claim some asthma sufferers are experiencing increasing attacks because of unbearable stenches coming from the Selwyn Avenue Tunnel on East 174th Street.

Residents say the tunnel, which has been neglected for years, reeks of urine, and pigeon droppings. Doctors at Bronx Lebanon Hospital say besides asthma victims, the school children at P.S. 70 could also face possible health risks due to the malodorous tunnel.

The Department of Sanitation was contacted but has yet to respond.
