Bronx woman knocked unconscious after ceiling collapses

A Bronx woman was knocked unconscious when her ceiling came crashing down.

Rosemary Espirar, 30, was watching television in her Creston Avenue apartment when the ceiling began to collapse. Espirar?s father says the ceiling has been leaking for more than two months and although the landlord was aware of the problem, it was never fixed.

Tenants say they are not surprised by the incident. They claim the building is full of problems such as broken toilets and stuck windows. Residents also say in addition to maintenance problems, their apartments are infested with roaches.

Espirar was taken to the hospital where she was treated for a head injury.
