Bronx express bus riders give MTA low marks since taking over the service

A survey released by Bronx politicians shows that express bus riders feel service has gotten worse since the MTA took over from Liberty Lines last January.

According to a survey conducted by Assemblymen Jeffrey Dinowitz and Oliver Koppell, service on express buses has not improved. Of the 600 residents who responded, more than half believed Liberty Lines did a better job. Overall, riders gave the MTA a grade of C or lower.

One gripe was the fare discount for seniors, which went from starting at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. An MTA spokesperson, says the fare reduction was not changed intentionally. The spokesperson adds that no one gave the MTA the heads up about the reduction.
