State senator proposes sex offender e-mail notification for Bronx residents

One state senator is trying to make information about sex offenders more accessible to the community. State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx) is proposing an e-mail alert system to warn Bronx residents if a violent sex offender moves into their neighborhood. Klein says the e-mail notification system would be a free service for residents who sign up. The New York Civil Liberties Union would not comment on the proposal.
