Bronx Terminal Market plans approved by local community board

Community Board 4?s Land Use Committee approved plans for the Bronx Terminal Market Wednesday with certain guidelines developers must follow.

Developers want to build big-name retail stores, restaurants and a hotel on the Terminal Market land. The board says further testing must be done on the impact of traffic and fumes in the area. There must also be a guarantee that Bronx residents will get jobs and receive training in the market.

Meanwhile, tenants of the Terminal Market and developers are still in a court battle over the space. Merchants at the market were supposed to leave in March when the developer took over the lease.
