Candidates vying for City Council District 11 seat take on different issues

Incumbent Oliver Koppell and challenger Ari Hoffnung are vying for the City Council District 11 seat and both candidates have different campaign platforms. Koppell, an attorney and president of Community School Board 10, says overdevelopment, noise control and the water filtration plant in Van Cortlandt Park are issues that the City Council needs to address. Hoffnung, the chairman of Community Board 8, believes problems with education, parks and senior citizens are the main issues facing District 11 residents. The primary will be held Tuesday, September 13.
