SUNY Maritime kicks off football season with first varsity team

Whether it is in a packed stadium among screaming fans or at home sitting in a lazy-boy, fans have started to pump up their adrenaline and are ready to officially watch Bronx football.

On September 10 the SUNY Maritime Privateers will not only be starting a football season, they will also be kicking off their first varsity team in more than a decade. Head Coach Clatyon Kendrick Holmes, who started the program, will try to lead his team to victory against Salve Regina from Rhode Island.

The Privateers will have the home advantage when they try for their first win.
