Leaders urge Bronx Hispanic community to votePosted: Updated:
Government officials always encourage Americans to vote, but for the September 13 primary election some community leaders are pushing extra hard for the Hispanic-American community?s vote.
City Council members along with leaders from Hispanic advocacy organizations argue many politicians overlook the Latino community by assuming they do not speak English. During a meeting at the Bronx Board of Elections, leaders said Hispanics make up almost 30 percent of the Bronx.
Bronx residents questioning where they are enrolled to vote can call 212-NYC-VOTE.
