DOT rejects residents plea for speed bumps on Stadium Avenue

Stadium Avenue residents say they won?t give up the fight to get speed bumps installed at the intersection of Country Club Road and Stadium Avenue.

After doing an extensive study of the area the Department of Transportation says the speed bumps are not necessary. Officials said there is no history of accidents at the proposed intersection. They added they recently installed a stop sign one block from the intersection. Residents say the stop sign hasn?t done enough and the intersection is still dangerous.

Residents say the speed bumps are needed to Slow down the constant flow of cars, especially with a nearby school and nursing home causing heavY walking traffic at the intersection.
