Some Bronx tenants worried about identity theft after files thrown away

Residents of a Bronx apartment complex came home Thursday to see their superintendent throwing out their personal files.

The complex on Evergreen Avenue consists of six buildings. The tenants say the files contained their social security numbers, birthdays and paycheck stubs. Some of the residents climbed into the dumpster to retrieve the files. The building?s management picked up all of the unclaimed files and stored them in the basement.

Several residents are now worried about possible identity theft. Some plan to take action against the management company.
