Performers in Belmont sing for Hurricane Katrina victims

Some Bronx organizations and performers raised their voices Saturday during a concert series benefiting victims of Hurricane Katrina

Patrons attending the benefit, held at Ciccarone Park in Belmont, donated clothing, canned goods, water and money. Community Board 6 sponsored the event and says all donated goods will be given to the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army.

Organizers say monetary contributions totaled more than $1,000.Related Story
