Lawsuit halts plan to move Fulton Fish Market to the Bronx

Plans to move the Fulton Fish Market to Hunts Point are on hold.

The company that unloads fish at the current market in lower Manhattan is suing the city for deciding not to use its services at the new location. Instead, city officials decided to have the wholesalers unload their own fish once the market opened at the new site.

Merchants agree with the decision, saying that making the wholesalers responsible will make the market run successfully.
