CUNY schools in the Bronx part of effort to help Mexican-American students

CUNY schools in the Bronx and city have entered an agreement with the Mexican Council General in an effort to better serve Mexican-American students.

According to the New York Times, CUNY's chancellor signed the agreement, which will provide educational opportunities for the students. The opportunities include plans for a scholarship, outreach to high school kids and training and advertising initiatives. Lehman College is just one school that has already begun helping by hiring a Mexican literature expert.

The Mexican-American population is one of the fastest growing immigrant groups in New York City.
