NYCLU targets military recruiters in Bronx, city schools

The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) announced a campaign targeting military recruiters in Bronx and city schools.

School districts are required to provide military recruiters with student phone numbers and addresses or risk losing funding. A spokesperson for the NYCLU says they want to ensure recruiters respect the rights of students and don?t interfere with education.

Parents and students 18 years or older can ?opt out? by submitting a written request to keep the information private. Students can obtain the forms from their principal?s office. The deadline to ?opt out? is October 15.
