Six-alarm fire rips through row of stores in the Concourse section
A six-alarm fire ripped through a row of stores in the Concourse section of the Bronx Thursday.
More than 200 firefighters fought the blaze on Jerome Avenue at 170th Street. It broke out in a commercial building that housed a store and a restaurant and spread to a nearby apartment building. The roof of the building was completely destroyed.
Three minor injuries to firefighters were reported. FDNY officials are investigating the blaze, which they call suspicious.
