Throgs Neck costumes make an early Halloween appearance

Children in Throgs Neck received an early Halloween treat by participating in the 19th annual Halloween Parade Saturday.

Ghosts, princesses, witches and superheroes marched through the area treating spectators to an early costume display. Parents say the parade helps make the holiday more than just screams and frights, it brings the community together. After the parade, children participated in a costume contest.

The event also included games, raffles and crafts.
