Trick-or-treaters asked to be cautious along Bronx streets

Officials from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration urge parents to take safety measures on Halloween night.

Standard trick-or-treat hours fall between 3 and 7 p.m. and the department urges parents and children to be extra cautious when walking along streets. With darker nights coming quicker, the department asks parents to make sure their children use crosswalks when crossing the street. Parents are also advised to put reflective tape on their princess? or superhero?s costumes so drivers will be more inclined to see them.

For licensed witches and pirates, officials say to make sure they have a designated driver when haunting Bronx streets.
