P.S. 48 parents pushing for more security after sexual assault suit filed

Parents in Hunts Point are pushing for more security at P.S. 48 after a sexual assault lawsuit was filed.

The lawsuit accuses two students, 7 and 9-year-old brothers, of sexually assaulting another student in the bathroom last year. However, many parents say this is not the first case of an attack on the campus. Many feel their children are not safe at the school and some have even pulled their kids out of the school. Parents would also like school administrators to be more open about safety problems.

The city's law department is handling the sexual assault lawsuit. It says it has received legal papers and is in the process of reviewing them. School and Department of Education officials have not commented on the case.
