Hispanic delegates visit BX to show support for mayoral candidate Ferrer

Approximately 70 Puerto Rican delegates made their way to the Bronx to take part in a rally and voice their support for mayoral candidate Fernando Ferrer (D).

Even though they cannot vote in the U.S., the delegates say this election is crucial. They say having a Puerto Rican mayor in the most important city in the world would be great for Puerto Ricans.

Ferrer, who is the former Bronx Borough president, spoke at the rally about what he would do to help the Hispanic population. Ferrer also criticized his opponent Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who has already been endorsed by the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico and several other Hispanics.

The delegates say they hope their trip will inspire voters to choose Ferrer.
