Parking meters in the Bronx officially rest on Sunday
Effective November 13 and every Sunday following, Bronx residents along with the other four boroughs can keep their quarters in their pockets rather than in city meters.
However, not all residents are happy they do not have to pay to park on Sundays. Some residents say the new ruling will affect business profits. Residents along with Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R-NY) argue drivers will park on Saturday nights and therefore discourage those looking to shop.
City officials say Sunday meter parking had generated an estimated $12 million a year in revenue.
