Fulton Fish Market to finally open its nets in the Bronx

After several delays, the Fulton Fish Market merchants have finally pulled up their anchors and will relocate to Hunts Point where they are scheduled to open up for business.

Security officials on the new premise say merchants are expected to finish moving this weekend. The new Fulton Fish Market will open its nets and doors November 14 at 3 a.m. The only difference between the Bronx market and the one in Manhattan is the indoor temperature control. The new facilities will be 42 degrees throughout the year.

Many of the delays involved unloading rights. After a legal dispute, Laros Service System won the rights to continue unloading merchants? supplies for the next three years. With the legal nets cleared, many merchants say they are ready to cast off for business.
