Many Bronx residents along with Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R-NY) and other mourners gathered Saturday to commemorate the victims of Flight 587.

The flight was heading to the Dominican Republic when it crashed on November 12, 2001 in Belle Harbor, Queens. All 265 passengers and crew members were killed. All the victims? names were read aloud during the ceremony and a moment of silence was observed.

Bloomberg says the city is planning a $2 million memorial to be built at the crash site.
