Bronx students may soon pay more to attend CUNY schools

Bronx students may soon be paying more to attend a City University of New York (CUNY) school.

CUNY Chancellor Matthew Goldstein is proposing tuition hikes of approximately 3 percent each year over the next four years. He says the increase is necessary because of a lack of state funding.

The exact figures for tuition increases will depend on which CUNY school is in question. The proposed tuition hikes are part of a multi-year master plan to improve the schools and estimated to cost more than $500 million.
