Bronx politicians want to put limits on cell tower locations

Several Bronx politicians are supporting a proposed bill that would put regulations on where cell phone towers are allowed throughout New York State.

After some residents complained about a tower being installed atop their building and the effects it would have on their health, politicians took action. State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Westchester/Bronx) created a bill that would put restrictions on cell phone towers. Klein says there has never been rules governing cell phone towers and he wants the Department of Buildings to hold the companies accountable.

Cell phone officials say the towers have to be put somewhere in order for the mass public to enjoy the conveniences.
