Students protest closure of Bronx campus of the Metropolitan College

Students from the Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) protested Saturday over the closure of the Courtland Avenue campus.

Students say they received a letter two weeks ago informing them their classes will be relocated to the school?s lower Manhattan site. Many students say having to travel to the new location is an inconvenience for those with families. However, MCNY President Stephen Greenwald says the college has no other option.

The Courtland Avenue campus will officially close in the summer of 2006.
