Some Bronx residents line up early to catch special sales

The day after Thanksgiving marks the official start of the holiday shopping season and some Bronx residents were up before dawn to snatch-up some early-bird specials.

Some Bronx residents say waking up well before the sun rises, standing in long lines and occasional fights over merchandise are all worth it due to the one-time specials. Shoppers say in addition to saving anywhere between 20 to 70 percent, pushing through crowds is better than waiting until Christmas Eve to finish checking off their lists.

Store managers say some of the hot items this year are the new Xbox 360 and Bratz dolls.
