Bronx businesses have mixed reactions over holiday spending

Bronx business owners are having mixed reactions after results from Black Friday show overall spending remained the same as in 2004.

Some owners say despite decorating their stores in red sale signs, their holiday sales were down an estimated 20 percent from last year. However, other store owners selling hip-hop clothing say their cash registers were jingling more this year.

Many Bronx shoppers say they are just starting their holiday spending, so several store owners say they are still hopeful of making a profit.
