Nautical museum offers Bronx residents waves of knowledge

The City Island Nautical Museum offers Bronx residents a vast sea of information on the area?s marine history.

The museum, which is located on the highest point of City Island in an old school building, was established in the 1980s. The non-profit museum is located on City Island and accepts donations for admission. The museum showcases exhibits on antique ship-building tools, various paintings by local artists and local yacht-builders who contributed to America?s Cup, a national boat race.

The museum hosts several community events held throughout the year, such as book signings and art exhibits.
